Love Wins: The Controversy of Universalism

Well, since all the cool kids are weighing in on Rob Bell’s explosive new book, Love Wins: A Book About Heaven, Hell, and the Fate of Every Person Who Ever Lived, I would feature it here on the blog.  Even though church leaders haven’t read it yet, you can bet they will.

I was talking with my ministry assistant tonight about what to do when you feel that one of your beliefs has been questioned through something someone said or through something you read.  My response is to always go back and read  or reexamine the things (Bible or otherwise) that led me to hold those convictions in the first place and make sure that I remain convinced.  That being said, it’s probably a good idea to revisit the whole counsel of Scripture on the doctrines of salvation and Hell, and see how global orthodox Christianity has treated those subjects consistently since the time of Christ.
