Preaching Christ from the Old Testament

Recently, The Gospel Coalition has launched a campaign to see more ministers preach Christ from the Old Testament. Two years ago, all the rage was defending the penal substitutionary theory of the atonement, and lately the focus has been on Gospel-centered (a frequent Twitter buzzword) preaching.  Now it looks like the next shift will be thousands of pastors who will begin preaching gospel-centered sermons from the Old Testament that rightfully defend the penal substitutionary theory of the atonement…not that there’ s anything wrong with that. 🙂
