John Starke at The Gospel Coalition blog asks Nancy Guthrie for her recommendations on books for the grieving and brokenhearted.  The final three books are there to help us understand our place in the Biblical storyline.  Here is Guthrie’s list:

1.  2.  3.

4.  5.  6.

7.  8.
Legend:

  1. Suffering and the Sovereignty of God by John Piper and Justin Taylor
  2. When God Weeps: Why Our Sufferings Matter to the Almighty by Joni Eareckson Tada

  4. Hearing Jesus Speak Into Your Sorrow by Nancy Guthrie
  5. When Your Family’s Lost a Loved One by David and Nancy Guthrie
